The Crippled Children's Society of NSW - Northcott Disability Services
Northcott Disability Services was established as The NSW Society for Crippled Children in 1929 by the Rotary Club of Sydney in response to the growing number of children with polio and tuberculosis. During that year, the Rotary Club of Sydney conducted a community doorknock campaign in an attempt to find children who were living with polio and tuberculosis. After eight months, 1,153 children were identified and registered as needing support.
Today, Northcott is a dynamic and innovative organisation that provides support and services to more than 6000 people with disabilities, their families and carers across NSW and the ACT.
Northcott provides services to people with a broad range of disabilities including physical, intellectual, sensory, acquired and degenerative disabilities, as well as challenging behaviours.
